The hip-hop legend Diddy, who released his debut album, Diddy and the Neptunes, in 2012, said this week that his new album Stay Sugarlander is among the best songs in hip-hoppers history.
Diddy said that the album is a “glimpse” into a “world that is far different” from the one he was born in and has changed over the years, according to a new interview with MTV News.
“Stay Sugarlander takes a look back at my past, my current place in the world, and my current state of mind,” he said.
“It’s a snapshot of how we’re living today.”
The new album is Diddy first as a rapper since 2010.
He released the album in 2017 and it was followed by a slew of singles, including “Gimme Some,” “Belly Up,” and “Hype” before it was shelved in 2018.
Stay Sugarler was released on Feb. 7, 2018, but it was never officially released by Diddy.
